It's a challenge for the Australian squad to break new ground.

The top summits have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the unit that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, those for the peak baggers, are the only things left for a side that has won it all.

It needed as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, regaining their record for the biggest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the bowling attack that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It's challenging for their batsmen to possess a record if not afforded the chance.

Finally, the consequence of Australia conceding 330 was captain Alyssa Healy receiving a chance to deliver her latest masterpiece.

Initially recognized as the young family member of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after Australia failed to win either of the T20 or ODI World Cups conducted earlier and has experienced everything through 15 successful years since.

A T20 World Cup win arrived three months after her bow and seven international trophies have resulted from 10 attempts across formats.

The gritty keeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India momentarily interrupted the run of success.

That loss "pushed us to reevaluate our levels," Healy stated recently.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the title decider and was awarded tournament MVP. She guaranteed her country would not come up short.

Whether this newest brilliant performance topped that previous effort can be debated.

Many contend the reasoning behind championship match pressure. Some might respond with the difficulty that comes when facing a record target and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's clear is this ton was far harder to see coming.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 came as she topped the run-scoring charts, but this knock came after six matches in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in practice sessions, it's been a frustrating experience because I feel like I've had no rhythm whatsoever," stated Healy.

"However when you take the field, your fighting spirit take over and you just lock into the contest."

Healy's competitiveness has consistently been her major advantage - and an irreplaceable characteristic in replacing famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, fallen to the young fast bowler in all three matches, but here that only provided Healy's spark.

A single came off the bowler's initial ball and from there Healy was underway.

"An opportunity to play and engage in competition with her and merely enjoy the moment that way, somewhat inspired me," said Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 balls - her swiftest at the global tournament - and her ton in 84 as she punished short deliveries, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

By the time she was out Australia needed 66 additional runs at run per delivery - a manageable total now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Chasing 330 runs is new territory so I'm happy we have the belief to achieve that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it again but, should it happen, we know we can achieve it."

Those words will be the ultimate thing rival teams at this championship want to hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will triumph from any situation has grown stronger - this triumph succeeding win against Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a meeting with longtime competitors England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a last-four spot may well be secure.

It was in the semi-finals they were eliminated from the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a match Healy couldn't play because of torn tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the first time at a significant event.

Such is her determination, she later said she regretted not playing despite the injury.

Yet even as she later admitted those physical issues have delayed thoughts of retirement, this World Cup is likely to be her last as captain in one-day cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a global event as skipper.

Triumph in India would lead her to the peak of her last major obstacle.
